Premises Liability
When a property owner fails to take precautions for the benefit of the public, and someone is injured as a result, Robert E. Sweeney Co., LPA works to hold the owner responsible. This area of law is known as “premises liability” – liability for injuries occurring to people while on or near the premises.
Premises liability can involve many different types of injuries. The most common are “slip and fall” injuries resulting from unsafe sidewalks, wet floors, or staircases without proper railings. Other premises liability injuries are caused by unsafe restraints on amusement park rides, or branches falling from trees, or even inadequate security in parking lots. Premises liability can also include injuries from toxic substances on the property, such as lead paint, asbestos, or chemicals.
